Name: John Oates
DOB: April 7, 1948
DOD: Still Alive
Claim to Fame: One Half of Hall & Oates
Prime YAM (Years Active with Moustache): 80s
Why It's Awesome:
Hall & Oates is easily one of the best duos in music history. In the 80s, they produced massive hits such as "Maneater" (see above video), "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)", and "You Make My Dreams Come True" (see above video). They popularized rock and soul.
It also helped that John Oates sported a moustache for the ages. Usually people refer to him as the moustached member of Hall & Oates. He actually became somwehat of a sex symbol in the 80s due to his 'stache. Apparently, the girls loved it.
Oates actually decided to shave off his 'stache, but still plays music with Daryl Hall. And trust me, the legend of John Oates' moustache still lives on.
Final 'Stache Rating (Out of Four Moustaches):
John Oates had one of the best 'staches of the 80s. It was thick and really added to his rock star look. It was really a sad day when he shaved it off.
